Passo a due design is the new limited series collection of artistic design works. The duo was born from the union of Alice Corbetta - artist-surface designer, and Valentina Garraffa - architect-light designer. The comparison of two different professionalisms and skills which, as in a pas de deux, harmonize, dancing between tradition and contemporaneity, between design and art.
The dialogue between the precious artistic work and the creativity of the designer, leads to a work always unique and unrepeatable
A "pas de deux"
Alice Corbetta & Valentina Garraffa
Alice Corbetta Alice Corbetta is an artist and Surface designer. Her activity focuses on the study of surfaces and their application in the covering of art objects and in interior design. She uses contemporary materials, such as micro-cement, resin and lime, to impart texture and imprints to decorative surfaces. She works with ancient techniques, borrowed from restoration, to create patinas and metallic corrosions.
Nature is her primary source of inspiration which is found in many projects and creations developed. For the artist, the surface is the element that describes the form and through a sensorial experience she is able to create its narrative.
In past years Alice worked in the field of Textiles and Fashion, then recovered her past at the Brera Academy in Milan, fascinated by the work of some great artists (from Antony Tapiès to Alberto Burri, just to name two of the most beloved ) began his artistic journey in the name of precious material abstractionism.
I see the surface of an interior like the skin of a body and it has a role that is not only aesthetic but also tactile and sometimes olfactory. There is a syllogism between inhabiting the domestic space and inhabiting the body, for me "living" means an intimate relationship between internal and external space. My surfaces are like tattoos on the skin of the inhabited space.
Valentina Garraffa is an architect and light designer, two professional backgrounds which, complementary, depend on each other. The integration between architecture and light characterizes her work, giving life to unique projects, a synthesis between innovation and tradition. She is always ready to face a design challenge, to find the balance of a space in which functionality and aesthetics blend perfectly with personalized, original and, why not, audacious solutions.
With over 20 years of experience in interior architecture and design and 10 in lighting behind it, it operates in the sector of design and renovation of residential spaces, recomposing the multiple values of living through the design of furnishing accessories.
Defining inspiration is something very complex. The essential element is risk, if you don't risk you won't be able to create something authentically beautiful, which has never been seen before and which lasts over time. To do this you need to be able to look at the world, visible and invisible, transforming perceptions and emotions into forms.
This fascinating, insidious and complex challenge takes shape from the observation of the changing needs of daily life. The study of the spaces we live in, constantly evolving, the search for the "piece" that we all would like, the updating and experimentation of materials, all with an eye to the future and the intuition of what can improve the aesthetic quality- functional of our habitat.

Spaziando
An “itinerary” of luminous works, a tribute to the Earth which, “if on the one hand it refers to the description of the sky and the cosmos, on the other it refers to one's own internal geography", as Italo Calvino wrote
The project was born from the will of Alice and Valentina on an extended reflection between the physical and the interior space. Trying to see beyond what is before our eyes to open the way to a more intimate vision.
The planets of the Spaziando collection The planets are conceived as an emotional engine and the work of art as a space of the soul.
There are many hidden details contained in this collection of artistic design. Time is undoubtedly the revealing element, which delicately insinuates itself into our emotions until it touches its most intimate part.
It is the first project of the collaboration between the artist and the architect, which aims, with a green soul, to solicit gratitude from the ether.
The collection takes its name from the desire for freedom of use and livability of the artistic object. The planets are wireless lighting fixtures, which is why they can be placed in the places that we feel most attractive at that moment, they can be placed on a wall or simply placed on the ground in a corner next to a sofa.
