Description
Gliese is the first work in the Spaziando collection, referring to the exoplanet hypothesized to have characteristics similar to Earth.
Alice and Valentina, in their sustainability-focused artistic design project, aim to initiate a reflection on the interconnection between physical and inner space.
The surface is treated with innovative products that ionize and purify the surrounding air.
The collection is battery-powered to allow enjoyment of the luminous artwork with two types of light: backlighting that radiates silhouettes and grazing illumination that highlights the surface's peculiarities, emphasizing oxidations, chromatic variations, and the materiality of Alice's artistic surface..
The satellite, crafted from curved glass with a mirrored silver decoration, represents the gateway to the artwork. The reflection invites us to go beyond the known reality, serving as a device to "slow down" the perception of the observation of time. The planet's surface is inspired by regolith, which is the heterogeneous mixture of sediments composing the outermost layer of rocky planets. The artist used a plaster to create a three-dimensional effect with imprints and a ferrous powder finish, and colorations occurred through the activation of oxidizing agents.
